Investment Terms and Conditions

  1. An independent portfolio manager will manage your investments according to your life goals and risk tolerance. We seek solid performance while protecting your hard earned capital.
  2. A trustee or custodian (bank) will manage your contributions, withdrawals, transfers and tax reporting. This includes registered and non-registered accounts.
  3. Almega assists you with planning, set up and adjustments. We do not handle your money or investments but you can contact us to initiate requests. Contact us
  4. An individual Portfolio normally starts at $350,000 of cash or transferred assets. Terms and fees improve when the portfolio reaches $1 million in assets.
  5. The client will choose the type of investment accounts as RRSP, TFSA, Non-registered, corporate or other. The client will approve transfers from other organizations.
  6. An Employer may agree to contribute to your personal portfolio.
    Note: For employees, RRSP contributions offers tax savings now and delay paying taxes until future withdrawals. With TFSAs, you pay taxes now and not in the future.
    Employer contribution to employee RRSPs or TFSAs is a business expense (i.e. tax saving to the business or non-profit).
  7. If the Employer contributes, employer and employee will agree on contributions to the investment account(s). For example, an employer may match employee contributions or contribute more or less. Contribution percentage of salary suggested is any whole number 2%, 3%, 4% or more.
  8. For RRSP withdrawals, Canada withholding tax is 10% for withdrawals up to $5,000, 20% for withdrawals between $5,000 and $15,000, and 30% for withdrawals over $15,000. When doing your tax return, you may get some or all withholding tax back depending on your income and deductions.
